Response behavior of bi-stable point wave energy absorbers under harmonic wave excitations

چکیده

To expand the narrow response bandwidth of linear point wave energy absorbers (PWAs), a few research studies have recently proposed incorporating bi-stable restoring force in design absorber. Such relied on numerical simulations to demonstrate improved absorbers. In this work, we aim understand how shape influences effective end, use perturbation methods obtain an approximate analytical solution nonlinear differential equations governing complex motion absorber under harmonic excitations. The is validated against obtained via direct integration motion. Using local stability analysis slow modulation amplitude and phase response, loci different bifurcation points are determined as function frequency amplitude. Those then used define influence also characterized by generating maps that can be predict kind behavior (small periodic, large or aperiodic) for any given combination frequency. critical toward designing efficient PWAs known conditions.
